It is often described as a journey, a rhythm, a milestone achieved but Hannah at Pocketful of Motherhood paints a beautiful analogy on motherhood.

The smiles, the tears, the laughter, the exhaustion, the surprises — all blend together to paint a picture of a journey unique to every mom. A once blank canvas gets covered in memories, adventures and lessons learned.

Marla at Pendulum World writes a potent reminder to value ourselves despite events or the grind of daily life causing us to question ourselves.

Kim at Invited by Grace illustrates how our children can be teachers to us even while they are making sense of the world.

Little minds ask big questions sometimes, don’t they?

Perspective is such a powerful thing. I know for me, I can so easily draw quick conclusions about my life, my circumstances, the people in it. I can so easily cling to discouragement and frustration before I understand the whole story. I often need help to stop, to see around, to remember there is a bigger picture that I simply flat-out miss.

Similarly, Heather at Intuitive Blessings celebrates how the innocence of children can serve thoughtful reminders to how we may want to live.

Children live from their hearts. They love and give without second thought of “what’s in it for me.” They simply live in the moment. They embrace life. They are love. They are beautiful reminders of what this world should be like.

And did you know that there is wonder behind children playing? Kim at Invited by Grace describes it poetically as the art of playing.

Framed only by imagination, motivated by this simple permission to be wholly content in our uniqueness, undisturbed by audience and the need to be art?

On a more serious note though still gracefully compiled, an Honest Mom reminds us how we want to be treated when we’re upset and toddlers are no different when they experience tantrums.

When I have the energy, I like handling his tantrums this way because it’s how I like people to handle mine.

If AJ tries to distract me from feeling upset, it pisses me off. I get distant and cold when he tries to talk me out of it or give me advice. The best times, always, are when he just listens.

And lastly, I wrote a post on the light that exists in our lives despite the unrelenting and ambiguous nature of parenting and the very next day discovered this art in light by Kimberly at Soul Healing Art.
